Geaux Saints!

In honor of the Saints going to the Super Bowl. I found this poster, illustrated by the ungoogleable artist Gayle Grout in 1983, really captures alot of what I love about New Orleans. Have a look around...

Great minds think alike

I was on the hunt earlier this week at Half Price Books and ran across this book cover. I know It's hard for me to make a claim like this, but this book cover for a pressing of Reginald Reynolds' 1949 book "Beards," might be my favorite Herb Lubalin design ever. It's gorgeously drawn, it's funny, it's concise, it's perfect. The funny thing is that there are similarities between my cover and my Grits logo.

MLK

I guess that Hood doesn't just exist around MLK Blvd. its where ever MLK is being use. ie MLK DAY Parade. I kept wondering, " Does check these people out before allowing them in the parade?" MMM... inquiring minds would like to know.

Honestly I think these guys were headed to MacGregor Park and made a wrong turn. But all is well the crowd seemed to appreciate the one of the slabs playing Fat Pat's "Tops Drop."

Cant end the day without BBQ!! Courtesy of my brother RON DON of course.

Polaroid Instant Film Camera is BACK

Following the widely publicized death of Polaroid film, it appears as the brand (alongside the recent appointing of Lady Gaga as creative director) will re-visit its iconic range of instant film cameras. With a ressurgence in film as of late, perhaps Polaroid will once again re-create the realm of instant film photography. The cameras will take on a retro aesthetic with a reliance on Polaroid 1000 film. A release date is slated for later this year with cameras set below the $100 USD mark.

Do You Remember Gumby?

Do You Remember Gumby? Here Is My Question What The Hell Is Gumby? I Mean I still have no clue what exactly Gumby was supposed to be, but this green claymation figure and his sidekick Pokey, the talking pony, dominated in the eighties.
